Sample bill

Time Warner Cable has revised its bill to give you both a quicker view and a detailed view.

Front
The front of the bill features a summary at the top with your account number, service period dates, date due and amount due. On the left side you'll see your account information, the payment center nearest your home and a list of bill payment options.

Back
The back of the bill has a series of details about past billing activity, such as previous balance and payments received, plus this month's service, including monthly services, one-time changes that happen during the service period (also known as "pro-rates") and On Demand purchases.

A sample bill below highlights the key features with explainers at the bottom of the page.

4. Previous Balance - The outstanding balance on your account as reflected on your last statement.

5. Payments Received - payments applied to your account prior to the date of this statement being generated. Any payments made after the bill date will be shown on your next statement.

6. Service Changes or Upgrades (aka "pro-rates") - Changes or credits that correspond to changes in services that were activated or discontinued during the current month. While this may appear confusing, by prorating your bill, you can be sure you will be charged only for the correct number of days for your service.

7. Monthly Services - Details your recurring Cable, High-Speed Data, Home Phone and Security services for the statement month.

8.  Limited-Time Offers - Any special discounts you may be receiving as part of a promotion.

9. Movies and Events - The charges for Movies On Demand and pay-per-view movies or events that you purchased during the statement month.

10. Taxes and Fees - Fees and taxes that are associated with your account. Federal and county governments require FCC fees and franchise fees on cable service as well as taxes on phone service.
