Settled in 1624 and chartered some 60 years later, Albany has been the capital of the state of New York for more than 200 years.
 
Albany, filled with cultural and recreational attractions that make it an exciting destination for work and play, is home to Capital News 9 -- a 24-hour news station that provides around-the-clock local news to residents in the Capital Region.
 
Capital News 9 launched on Oct. 11, 2002, and is a fully integrated local news organization that operates on a completely digital platform. News 9 offers the Capital Region the only 24/7 news report and uses state-of-the-art fiber, computers, broadcast and transmission technology to bring it into the homes of more than 325,000 Time Warner Cable customers.
 
Our video is captured by the crews on the streets and "ingested" into computer servers. Immediately made available for all functions of the news and webcast operation, this type of newscast is new to the industry. In fact, only eight other television stations (all Time Warner owned and operated) in the world have this type of advanced "broadcast" technology. The way in which a news story goes from an event to an on-air report is seamless, fast and reliable. As such, our staff is world-class.
 
As leaders in the industry, we have increased the level of service to the Time Warner Cable customer and, by doing so, have created a value to an existing product that all Cable, Broadcast and Entertainment outlets are striving to achieve.

About Our Office
Located in a converted bowling center at 104 Watervliet Avenue Extension in Albany, our office building pays homage to its history with a bowling lane in the lobby. Our offices are easily accessible from I-90.
