Now you can totally block most cable channels without losing many of the great family-friendly networks that cable has offer. Our Family Choice Tier offers 15 squeaky clean Digital Cable channels that includes lots of programming the whole family can view together.*
Here’s How It Works
When you order Family Choice, all other cable channels that do not meet our criteria are blocked out ― or trapped ― before they reach the house. No one in your household can watch these cable channels anywhere in your home.
Keep in mind you will still get all broadcast channels like CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, etc… which may air unsuitable programming at various times ― but you can use our parental controls features to block TV shows on these channels.

*While Time Warner Cable has tried to select programming services for inclusion in the Family Choice tier that will be appropriate for general family audiences, individual views about such matters will vary. Also, Time Warner Cable does not have direct control over the content of the programming services it carries. In addition, federal law requires that cable operators provide the Basic tier of service, which includes broadcast stations, public and leased access channels and other programming, to all customers. Because of these factors, Time Warner Cable cannot guarantee that subscribers to the Family Choice tier will find all the programming they receive appropriate for their families at all times. In order to give parents additional control over the programming viewed in their homes,Time Warner Cable also provides Family Choice customers set-top boxes that include Time Warner Cable's Parental Controls feature. Additional purchase of Basic Cable service (varies by location, from $8.00 - $12.00/month) and lease of a Digital set-top box ($7.65/month) required.
