Do I need any new equipment in order to watch new digital television?

Answer:

If you own an analog television (a TV without an internal digital tuner), you need to purchase and connect a digital-to-analog converter box in order to continue to watch free over-the-air programming.

Please refer to your television’s owner’s manual to determine if your TV has a digital tuner or go to www.dtv2009.gov for more information.

The government established a Digital-to-Analog Converter Box Coupon Program. Every U.S. Household was eligible to receive up to two coupons worth $40 each towards the purchase of an eligible digital-to-analog converter box. The coupon program will accept applications for coupons until July 31, 2009 or while supplies last. For more information about this program, visit www.dtv2009.gov, or call 1-888-388-2009 (voice) or 1-877-530-2634 (TTY).
