Time Warner Cable Wideband Internet and Road Runner Extreme utilize DOCSIS 3.0, the next generation of internet technology. Through new features and improved efficiency such as channel bonding, combined with Time Warner Cable’s robust fiber-optic network, Time Warner Cable Wideband Internet and Road Runner Extreme enables twice as fast download speeds as the existing Broadband service.

 

 

What speeds will be offered when Time Warner Cable Wideband Internet and Road Runner Extreme have launched?

 

With the launch of Time Warner Cable Wideband Internet customers will experience download speeds up to 50 Mbps and upload speeds up to 5 Mbps. Road Runner Extreme customers will have download speeds up to 30 Mbps and upload speeds up to 5 Mbps. 

 

 

How fast is Time Warner Cable Wideband Internet’s up to 50 Mbps download speed?

 

  • An average email in .01 seconds 
  • One minute of online gaming in .21 seconds
  • Web page browsing in .32 seconds
  • A digital photo in 1 second
  • An MP3 Music file in 1.55 seconds
  • 1 minute of HD streaming video in 9.23 seconds

 

Note: Time Warner Cable Wideband Internet download times are at maximum speeds and can vary depending on the Wireless Home Network setup (if applicable) and programs being used on the computer.

Because of the standard registry settings established for Windows XP, subscribers utilizing this operating system may not receive the higher speeds provided by Time Warner Cable Wideband.   A registry optimizer may be used to update the settings to receive faster speeds.
