Award-winning television producer Fern Field highlights her first year as artist-in-residence at CSUSB Palm Desert Campus with a lecture on her multi-faceted life and career and focuses on our constant need to reinvent ourselves. Share an hour with a gifted artist and a survivor who exemplifies the fact that “not making it is not an option” and “it’s never too late to do whatever it is you want to do.” On TV10: Friday, May 11, 2pm; Saturday, May 12, 7:30pm; Sunday, May 13, 10am California Desert Nature Festival Lecture - The Salton Sea by Robert McKernan, Director, San Bernardino County Museum. Held in conjunction with the California Desert Nature Festival, view this lecture presented by museum director McKernan and share in his vast field research on the Salton Sea. This event will offer unique and incisive insight into the many issues that face the sea and the birds that depend upon it during their spring and fall migrations. A perfect addition to the nature fest! Coming Soon! Current Findings in Autism Research: Causes, Treatments, and Impact on Families A lecture by Professor Dwight P. Sweeney Director of University Center for Development Disabilities and professor of educational psychology and counseling, CSUSB. The University Center for Developmental Disabilities (UCDD) provides a program for children with autism within San Bernardino and Riverside counties. This program was developed to serve children with autism and other pervasive developmental disabilities and their families. Co-sponsored by the World Affairs Council of the Desert, College of the Desert, CSUSB Intellectual Life and Visiting Scholars Committee, and the Palm Desert Campus. Coming Soon!
