What is the Digital Transition (DTV)?

As you may have heard, the nation's full-power TV broadcasters are required by law to  turn off their analog signals no later than June 12, 2009 and broadcast exclusively in a digital format.  However, broadcasters in some markets may choose to make the transition sooner.

What About Digital Cable?
Our Digital Cable service is NOT required for the Digital Transition (DTV), but now may be a good time to think about upgrading. With Digital Cable, you’ll receive:

  • On Demand programming - movies, kids’ shows and music available, with new shows added daily.

  • FREE upgrade to HD service.

  • Easy-to-use interactive program guide.

  • More channels and shows than you currently enjoy - up to triple the number in some areas.

When are local stations switching to the new digital signal?

Some stations are sticking with the original plan and dropping their analog signals on February 17, 2009, while others will continue to broadcast in analog until June 12, 2009, the new date set by Congress.  The best way to keep your signal, stations, and your favorite shows is to get Time Warner Cable right now.

How will I know broadcasters have made the change to digital prior to June 12, 2009?

Broadcasters that make the change to all-digital before June 12 will be airing announcements to alert viewers.
