Parental Control

The Parental Control feature works with the Block feature found
in the General Settings menu of the Interactive Program Guide. When the Parental Control feature is on, it enforces the blocks. When it is off, the blocks are no longer in effect.

Parental Control can only be changed by entering the correct PIN
or Personal Identification Number at the PIN Entry screen.

How To Set Up Parental Control Using Your Remote Control

The TV Parental Guidelines can help you better determine the programs that are potentially inappropriate for your children. You can block programs by channel, rating, or time.

Press the SETTINGS button on your remote control once for the Quick Settings menu. Use the up and down arrows to highlight and enable Parental Control. Press the SETTINGS button again for General Settings and use the up and down arrows to scroll to the Block Channels option.

Press SELECT and use the arrows to scroll through and highlight the channels you want to block. Once highlighted, press SELECT to add or remove a channel from your list of blocked channels.

When you press the SELECT button to add or remove a channel from the blocked channels list, the PIN entry screen will appear.

Enter your own created 4 digit parental control PIN number to enable your blocked channels. You may change your PIN number under the General Settings menu by highlighting Block:PIN and following the onscreen instructions.
Once you have all the channels selected that you wish to block out, press the yellow A button to accept or the red C button to cancel the changes. When you are finished press the EXIT button to leave the General Settings menu.

IMPORTANT:
Unlocking Parental Control will disable Parental Lock on ALL channels. Parental Control is RESTORED when the Digital Home Terminal is powered OFF. You can also use the 'Blocking by Rating' feature for Parental Control.

The cable industry has a longstanding commitment to addressing parents' concerns about what they and their children see on television. For this reason the industry provides tools like the Parental Control feature to help families control the programming that comes into their homes.
