FORMER ADELPHIA CUSTOMERS
Since Time Warner Cable became the provider of Video, High Speed Internet and Phone services to the residents of North County formerly serviced by Adelphia, we have been working to bring more advanced services and options to you. As part of this process, we will be aligning the channel line-up and packages to more closely match those provided to the rest of our Time Warner Cable customers. This change will take place July 11, 2007.
Depending on the level of service to which you subscribe, you will see some channels moved to other tiers, some channels removed and a number of new channels added.
For further information on these changes, please refer to the customer letters: Basic Lifeline, Basic, Classic, and Digital; the FAQ below and the line-up for details on these changes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Information for Local Basic Only Customers
Suddenly I see more channels on my line-up If you currently subscribe to only the Basic service you will be able to enjoy the additional channels on the Expanded service at no extra charge until July. At that time, we will introduce a new 22 channel Local Basic service. This change is part of the complete channel re-alignment that will take place on July 11, 2007 for all North County customers.
Will I be charged more for these extra channels? No. There is no increase in your monthly rate during this time. In fact, when we introduce our new Local Basic service, you will see your rate for that service go down to $12.99. Of course, if you wish to continue to enjoy all the channels, you can upgrade to Classic Cable before the new line-up takes effect.
When will this change happen? On July 11, 2007 we will begin the process of putting the new Basic service in place. Sometime in the weeks following that date, you will no longer see the additional channels unless you have upgraded. You will see the new rate on your July bill. I do not want my kids watching a certain channel that is now opened up, can I get it blocked? Yes. Parental Control is available for anyone wishing to have channels on this tier blocked from their home during this period. Call Customer Service at 760-707-1000 (Fallbrook: 760-929-9185) to request this service.
I have Lifeline Basic service, what happens to that with the changes to the Local Basic service? Your Lifeline Basic will also be changed to the 22 channel new Local Basic and you will also see your monthly rate for that service reduced to $12.99. Because of the very low price for this package, we will no longer offer a separate lifeline service.
Information for All North County Customers - Pre-Realignment
I hear that we will be getting a new line-up soon, why? That is correct. On July 11, 2007 we will launch a new line-up across all cable service levels in the San Diego North County area previously served by Adelphia. These changes will align your channel line-up more closely with that provided to the rest of our Time Warner Cable customers. This way we can provide a better customer experience and make room for new programming in the future.
What’s going to change? The new line-up will introduce new Basic and Expanded tiers as part of the Classic Cable service, and new Digital line-ups as well. You will see many new channels not previously available, while others will move to different tiers and a few will be removed. You can see the whole line-up by clicking here. You will also receive a packet in the mail before the conversion with a complete line-up and information on how it affects you.
Will what I pay change? Because this realignment coincides with annual rate adjustment in July, 2007, there will be some rate changes for Basic, Expanded, equipment and Advantage package customers. You should receive notification of these changes if they affect you on your June bill statement and the changes will take effect in July. (If you normally do not receive a paper statement, you will receive a letter notifying you of the rate change.)
Why are channels being moved to different service levels? These moves are being made to align the channels with the rest of the Time Warner Cable San Diego line-up and more importantly, to provide space to add more digital programming, more High Definition channels and advanced interactive services going forward. For example, if you have an HD TV and converter, starting July 11th, you will receive Movies on Demand HD, HD PPV and Fox Sports Net HD.
