Giving Criteria
Time Warner Cable provides both monetary and in-kind donations to nonprofit organizations, supports a variety of local programs, and encourages our employees to volunteer their time and talents to programs of their choice. Non-profit organizations may submit requests for funding if they meet the following eligibility criteria:
Geographic Limitation
We are dedicated to making a positive impact in the communities where our employees
live and work, where we have a business (or corporate) presence and where we provide service. Click here for list of service areas.
Eligibility
Requesting Organizations must:
- Be a nonprofit certified for tax exempt status under IRS code 501(c)(3), in good financial and public standing
- Be naturally or directly related to our industry or our community
- Have low to average administration fee or event cost (15% or less)
- Show strong support from community leaders
Areas of Exclusion
- Pass-through, third-party fundraising organizations or organizations which do not provide direct services (donations must be made directly to a nonprofit organization)
- Grant making organizations
- An employee’s children’s school (see Employee Matching Grant Program)
- Political (direct or indirect) organizations
- Units of government or quasi-governmental agencies
- Labor organizations
- Religious organizations
- Travel programs (expenses for groups or individuals)
- Publication of books, or the production of films and music
- Fraternal organizations or social clubs
- Individual scholarship funds
- For-profit organizations or corporate employee groups
- Requests for support of operating or advertising expenses
- Capital campaigns (bricks and mortar)
- Individual requests for aid
- Programs outside our service area
- Organizations currently receiving grants or other support from Time Warner Inc. and/or its subsidiaries
- Halfway homes, treatment centers or group-living facilities
