AMUR TIGER CUBS
These adorable Amur Tiger Cubs were born at the Buffalo Zoo in October 2007.  Thanks in part to Time Warner Cable, they will be introduced to the public in March 2008, at the zoo!  To see more pictures of the cubs and to help us name the cubs, visit our Tiger Cubs page.

BUFFALO BILLS TIME WARNER CABLE STUDENT LEADER PROGRAM
The Buffalo Bills Time Warner Cable Student Leader program is a partnership to identify and create the next generation of leaders in our community. A selected group of high school students participate in a six-month curriculum where they meet local professionals within the community, go behind the scenes at the Buffalo Bills, assist staff during selected home games and serve as Bills ambassadors to their schools. Participants also learn the importance of charity.

 

CRADLE BEACH CAMP
In the summer of 2007, Time Warner Cable began a 5 year partnership with Cradle Beach Camp in Angola to create the Time Warner Cable Digital Den. The Digital Den will be a place for rest and respite from inclement weather for the disabled and disadvantaged children who have the chance to attend this wonderful camp. Time Warner Cable also provided camp tuition for 25 children this past summer.

FIGHT LIKE A GIRL
Time Warner Cable partnered with the Oxygen Network to hold FREE self-defense classes for women.  More than 125 women over the age of 18 participated in the classes, and were taught how to recognize, assess and avoid assault prone situations.  Led by officers from the Buffalo Police Department, Fight Like a Girl emphasized prevention and awareness, and also taught basic stress self-defense techniques.

LITERACY VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA
Time Warner Cable believes in the importance of reading. On the corporate level, Time Warner sponsors the Time to Read program to inspire a love of reading and 21st century literacy skills. Locally, we have partnered with the Literacy Volunteers to help reduce the number of children and adults in our area who do not know how to read. Time Warner Cable supports Literacy Volunteers with cash donations and book-drives more than 800 books were collected in 2007.

NORTH ATLANTIC REGIONAL US FIGURE SKATING CHAMPTIONSHIPS
Time Warner Cable proudly served as the presenting sponsor for the 2007 North Atlantic Regional US Figure Skating Championships at the Amherst Pepsi Center. This exciting 5 day event sponsored by the Amherst Skating Club brought together 287 competitors, age 9-20, from 40 figure skating clubs located across New York, New Jersey and parts of Pennsylvania.

STUDIO ARENA THEATER
Time Warner Cable began a multi-year partnership with Buffalo’s Studio Arena Theater as their
“Opening Night Series” sponsor and the Diamond sponsor of their yearly gala dinner. Additionally, Time Warner Cable created the TWC Connections to not only display pertinent information about performances but also to generate revenue. Time Warner Cable has also produced commercials and aired them.

THEATRE OF YOUTH
In the spring of 2008, Time Warner Cable is sponsoring the Theatre of Youth’s production of
“The Great Gilly Hopkins.” The Theatre of Youth performs at Buffalo's Allendale Theater and is made up of local actors bringing theater into lives of children.
