Dig Safely
Safety Tip: Call Before You Dig
Before you dig into any outdoor home project, remember Dig Safely New York, a public service to help keep you safe.
Dig Safely New York lets Time Warner Cable and other participating utilities know about planned digging or backhoeing, giving us time to mark our underground cables. This free service helps you prevent personal injury, property damage and service interruptions caused by accidentally digging into cable, telephone, electric, gas, and water and sewer facilities.
State law requires that Dig Safely New York be notified by calling 1-800-962-7962 at least two full working days and no more than 10 working days, before digging begins. If you're a Time Warner Cable phone customer, simply dial 811.
