Digital Video Recorder Remote (AT8400 AllTouch® Universal)

The Scientific Atlanta model AT8400 AllTouch® Universal Remote Control (commonly known as "the DVR remote") is specifically used in combination with the Explorer 8000 Digital Video Recorder Cable box. It allows for complete control of all DVR functions as well as your VCR and television. Below is a picture of the remote with the common functions pointed out. Detailed descriptions of some of the more complex buttons are located below.

Menu Arrows and Select
Navigate through menus with the arrow and make your choice with the SELECT button. For example, while watching a channel, browse through descriptions of shows on other channels with up & down arrows or through time with left & right arrows.

Guide
Display the program guide to a list of channels, record, and set a reminder.

Menu

Info
Bring up information on the current channel and show or on any option that is selected in the programming guide.

Favorites
Recall favorite channels, which you program with the SETTINGS button.

Settings
Press once for quick settings, press twice for more settings. With quick settings, you can start recording, set a sleep timer, set a channel favorite, turn on parental controls. With more settings, you can set more than 20 personal preferences, including blocking PINs and timer functions.

Live
At any time during playback mode, press the live button to return to realtime broadcast.

List
Bring up a list of all currently available, previously recorded shows with options.
