The local Time Warner Cable operation was created April 1, 1995, as a result of the partnership between the former NewChannels Cable and Time Warner Cable. Since then, additional cable systems formerly owned/managed by Cablevision Industries, Paragon Cable, Adelphia Cable Communications, Fanch and AT&T Broadband & Internet Services, have been added to the Syracuse Division's network now totaling 17 cable systems. Over 1,600 people are employed by the Central New York Division of Time Warner Cable while nationally, the company employs approximately 25,000.

Time Warner Cable Road RunnerIn Central New York, the company operates cable systems in the City of Syracuse and suburban Syracuse, Fulton, Oswego, Cortland and Central Square. Other systems in the Division are Ithaca, Rome, Ilion, Oneida, Boonville, Watertown, Carthage, Ogdensburg, Potsdam, Massena, Malone, Binghamton, Elmira, Corning, Sayre, Hornel, Jamestown and Oneonta. In August 2006, the CNY Divsion inherited the previously owned Adelphia properties of Auburn, Utica, Saranac Lake and Norwich.

The company provides traditional cable television services (including Pay Per View), utilizing state-of-the-art fiber-optic/coaxial distribution systems. In addition, Time Warner Cable offers residential security through Time Warner Security. "Road Runner" is our high-speed online service using cable modems and cable's superior technological infrastructure. Digital Cable launched in the central region in August of 1999 and offers access to more than 250 channels. In the summer of 2004 the Digital Phone product was added to the array of services Time Warner Cable provides, giving customers unlimited local and long distance calling.
