These instructions will assist you with the following:
- Setting up your voicemail account
- Setting a voicemail PIN
- Recording a voicemail greeting
- Retrieving voicemail messages
- Managing your voicemail messages, including saving voicemail messages, deleting voicemail messages and many other convenient voicemail management options.

Setting Up your Voicemail Account
It will take just a few minutes to set up your voicemail account. Once this step is complete, your voicemail will be ready to receive messages.
- Dial your voicemail access number:
- Binghamton: 607-237-0100
- Jamestown: 716-708-6200
- Rochester: 585-355-4200
- Syracuse: 315-396-0200
- Press the '#' key if dialing from your home phone. If accessing voicemail from a remote location, dial your 10-digit phone number.
- The voicemail system will ask you for your PIN. Your temporary PIN is the last four digits of your phone number.
- The voicemail system will prompt you to change your PIN and press the '#' key. Your PIN must be 4-digits long. Make sure to pick a PIN that is easy for you to remember, but difficult for someone else to guess. For example, do not use your phone number, house address or birth date. Please note that should you forget your PIN number when accessing the system you will be allowed three attempts to enter it correctly. After the third attempt you will be locked out of the account and must call support to have it reset.
- The voicemail system will ask you to verify your PIN by entering it a second time and pressing the '#' key.
- The voicemail system will ask you to record your name and press the '#' key. If the voicemail will be used to answer calls for multiple people, you should record a name that represents all individuals. For example, 'Sam and Rebecca' or 'The Smith Family'.
- To use the recording of your name, press 1.
- To listen to the recording of your name, press 2.
- To record your name again, press 3.
- The voicemail system will ask you to record your standard greeting and press the '#' key. This is the greeting callers will hear when you are unable to answer the phone. You may want to write out your greeting in advance of recording to make sure you provide callers all the information you desire.
- To use the recording of your standard greeting, press 1.
- To listen to the recording of your standard greeting, press 2.
- To record your standard greeting again, press 3.
- Congratulations! You have completed setting up your voicemail account. The voicemail system will offer you the opportunity to listen to the main menu. If you are finished, you can either hang-up the handset or press *9 to exit.
Retrieving Voicemail Messages
You can retrieve your messages from home using your Digital Phone or away from home using any other phone. While on the phone, call waiting will beep 3 times before transferring to voicemail. The caller will hear the phone ring 5 times before they are transferred to voicemail, if you choose not to answer call waiting. The following instructions will guide you through the process of retrieving your messages.
At Home using your Digital Phone
- Dial your voicemail access number:
- Binghamton: 607-319-4500
- Jamestown: 716-708-6200
- Rochester: 585-355-4200
- Syracuse: 315-396-0200
- The voicemail system will answer with a welcome message.
- Press the '#' key to indicate you are calling from home using your Digital Phone.
- Enter your PIN followed by the '#' key.
- The voicemail system will tell you how many new voicemail messages you have.
- Press 1 to listen to your voicemail messages.
*You may press 9 to bypass the header and message. Away from Home using any Other Phone
- Dial your voicemail access number:

- The voicemail system will answer with a welcome message.
- Enter your Digital Phone ten-digit telephone number and press the '#' key.
- Enter your PIN followed by the '#' key.
- The voicemail system will tell you how many new voicemail messages you have.
- Press 1 to listen to your voicemail messages.
Managing your Voicemail Messages
Once you finish listening to your voicemail messages, you have a variety of options available to manage your messages. The following directions will make you aware of your options and guide you through the process of managing your voicemail messages as you so desire. Saving a Voicemail Message
- Once you have retrieved a voicemail message (see section titled 'Retrieving Voicemail Messages'), you have the option of saving the message.
- If you want to save the voicemail message, press the '#' key immediately upon the conclusion of the message.
- The voicemail system will save your voicemail message and immediately begin playing the next message.
Replaying a Voicemail Message
- Once you have retrieved a voicemail message (see section titled 'Retrieving Voicemail Messages'), you have the option of replaying the message.
- If you want to replay the voicemail message, press 1 immediately upon the conclusion of the voicemail message.
- The voicemail system will replay the message.
Erasing a Voicemail Message
- Once you have retrieved a voicemail message (see section titled 'Retrieving Voicemail Messages'), you have the option of erasing the message.
- If you want to erase the voicemail message, press 3 immediately upon the conclusion of the message.
- Your voicemail message has been erased.
*If you accidentally erase a voicemail message, you can only retrieve the message during the same voicemail session, if you have not hung up. Retrieving a Voicemail Message that was accidentally Deleted
- Upon realizing that you accidentally erased a voicemail message, press *7 or, if you are back at the main menu, press 1 then *7. This will play the previously retrieved and erased voicemail message.
- After listening to the previously retrieved and erased voicemail message, you can manage the message as described by the voicemail system. If you want to recover the voicemail message, press the '#' key.
Marking a Voicemail Message as New
- Once you have retrieved a voicemail message (see section titled 'Retrieving Voicemail Messages'), you have the option of marking the message as new. You may also mark voicemail messages that you have previously saved as new.
- If you want to mark a voicemail message as new, press 6 immediately upon the conclusion of the message.
- Your voicemail message has been marked as new. The next time you access your voicemail messages, this message will be retrieved as though it is a new message.
Rewinding a Voicemail Message
- Once you have retrieved a voicemail message (see section titled 'Retrieving Voicemail Messages'), you can rewind the message several seconds.
- If you want to rewind the voicemail message several seconds, press 7 at any time during the message.
- Your voicemail message will rewind several seconds and begin playing again.
- To completely rewind the message, continue to press 7 until you have reached the beginning of the message.
Advancing the Voicemail Message
- Once you have retrieved a voicemail message (see section titled 'Retrieving Voicemail Messages'), you can advance the message several seconds.
- If you want to advance the voicemail message several seconds, press 9 at any time during the message.
- Your voicemail message will advance several seconds and begin playing again.
