HD Tips Order Now

Up to one-third of all HD television sets are returned to the stores where they were purchased, often because consumers are unaware that additional steps are required to receive HD service.

The following simple tips will help consumers avoid the most common causes of dissatisfaction with their HDTV.

Get HD Service and Equipment: Your new HDTV is ready to begin receiving and transmitting the HD signal. To get the most from your HDTV, it is recommended, however, that you sign up for HD service (including the special HD set top box) from Time Warner Cable.

Ensure that the HDTV is connected properly: The myriad of connection options, including HDMI, S-Video, Composite Video, etc. can make it confusing to connect an HDTV. Professional installation through your video provider or the service department of the retail outlet that sold you the HDTV can ensure that it is set up properly.

Tune in to HD Channels: All of the networks that are available in HD, including local broadcast, cable and sports networks, are carried on different channel numbers. Be sure that you are watching the HD channel.

Every program is not in HD: Even on the HD version of networks that are available in HD, not every program is filmed or shown in HD.

Maximize your HD viewing with HD DVR: Using an optional HD DVR it is possible to record all of your favorite shows in HD to watch at your convenience.
