Caller ID
Purpose
See who’s calling before you answer the phone. When you receive a call, the name and telephone number of the person calling you is shown on your Caller ID display screen.
How to use
When you receive a call, wait until your telephone completes the first ringing signal.
The telephone number calling you and the name associated with that number in the telephone company records will automatically appear on your caller ID display screen.
Notes
Caller ID requires a telephone with a Caller ID display. If a letter "P" or "Private" appears on your display after the first ring, the caller may have blocked the display of their name and number by pressing *67 (or dialing 1167 on a rotary) before placing the call.
If "unknown name", "unknown number", "out of area" or "O" appears, the caller is in an area that does not support Caller ID services.

Call Waiting
Purpose
You’ll know when another caller is trying to reach you.
How it works
You can use your telephone without missing other calls. A special tone alerts you to a waiting call; the person calling you hears normal ringing.
To answer a waiting call
When you’re on the phone, a special tone tells you a second call is waiting.
Simply press and quickly release the "switchhook" or "Flash" button on your phone. While you talk with one caller, the other caller will automatically be placed on hold. Each conversation remains private.
To alternate between callers:
Simply press and quickly release the "switchhook" or "flash" button on your phone. While you talk with one caller, the other will automatically be placed on hold. Each conversation remains private.
To end either call
Hang up the phone.
Your phone will ring.
When you answer, you’ll be connected with the remaining caller.
Cancel Call Waiting
You can choose not to be disturbed when making an important call and keep call waiting from interrupting your telephone conversation(s) by pressing *70 before you dial the number you are calling.

3-Way Calling
Purpose
3-Way Calling is a custom calling feature that allows a customer to add a third party to an existing conversation without operator assistance. It enables a subscriber to “flash” (leaving the in-process call on hold), get a new dial tone, place another call and then “flash” again to connect all three parties together. 3-Way Calling is a standard feature of the Digital Phone package. It is offered at no additional cost to the customer.
How to use
To activate a 3WC, a user involved in an existing call takes the following steps:
1. On an existing call, the user presses the Flash button or switch hook; this places the original called party on hold.
2. Upon hearing the recall dial tone (three tones and then a dial tone), the user dials the telephone number for the third party.
3. Pressing the Flash button or switch hook again joins all three parties.
Notes:
• If the user presses the Flash button or switch hook before completing dialing, the original two-way connection is reestablished.
• If either of the called parties hangs up, the call continues with the remaining two parties.
• If the initiating party hangs up during a three-way call, all parties are disconnected.
• During a 3WC, the Call Waiting and Call Waiting Caller ID features are not available to the user who initiates the 3WC.
• Once a 3WC is established, the customer must hang up the phone for at least 2 seconds in order to disconnect the 3WC and begin to establish another. If the customer does not hang up the phone for at least 2 seconds, they will continue to receive the special tone for 3WC.
