Call Waiting
Call Waiting lets you answer a second call when you're on the phone. With the press of a button, put your first caller on hold and connect with the second one.
What to do:
- To put the first call on hold and take the second, press FLASH or quickly press the switch hook.
- To put the second call on hold and go back to the first one, press FLASH or the switch hook again.
- If you hang up on one call, the phone will immediately ring to remind you that the other caller is still holding. Just pick up the phone to connect.
- If you don't answer the second call, it will go to Voice Mail. If you don't have Voice Mail the caller will simply hear the ring tone.
Caller ID
- Caller ID lets you know who is calling before you pick up the phone, so you only answer the calls you choose to.
- Use a Caller ID-enabled phone or an external Caller ID box.
- When a call comes in, the identity of your caller appears onscreen.
- Most Caller ID displays automatically log all incoming calls, so you can see any call you miss when you're away.
- PRIVATE or ANONYMOUS means the caller doesn't want to be known in advance, and has blocked your Caller ID.
- UNKNOWN, OUT OF AREA or UNAVAILABLE means the caller's area or phone system doesn't support Caller ID.
- PAYPHONE means the caller is using a pay telephone.
- NO DATA SENT indicates a phone system problem.
Call Waiting ID
Call Waiting ID combines Call Waiting and Caller ID when you’re on the phone to show you the name and number of your second caller.
- Use a Caller ID-enabled phone or an external Caller ID box.
- When your phone is in use and a second call comes in, the second caller's identity appears on the screen.
If you don't have Voice Mail, the caller will simply hear the ring tone.
Call Forwarding
Call Forwarding allows you to forward your calls to an alternative number.
- Press (*72); listen for three short beeps and then a dial tone; enter the 7 or 10-digit number where calls will be forwarded and wait for the confirmation tone.
- After the confirmation tone, the system will automatically place a courtesy call to the forward-to number. If the forwarded-to party answers the courtesy call, the feature is activated.
- If at set up time, the forward-to line is busy or there is no answer to the courtesy call, the feature is not activated. You can still activate Call Forwarding by repeating the activation procedure within two minutes of the first attempt.
- You will hear an error message if the forward-to number is invalid. Calls will continue to forward to the chosen number until deactivated.
- If you have Voice Mail, your calls and calls that would turn into Voice Mail will continue to go to the forward to number thereby bypassing Voice Mail.
- You must remember to deactivate Call Forwarding by pressing (*73) and waiting for the deactivation confirmation tone.
