When should you change your PIN?

You should change your PIN:

• When you first get digital cable, your default PIN (Personal Identification Number) numbers are usually set up as 0000. We recommend you change this PIN to something unique that you can remember.
• For added security, it's a good idea to change your PIN numbers on a regular basis.
• There are 2 different PIN numbers you can set:
  • BLOCKING PIN for Parental Control
  • PURCHASE PIN for Purchase Protection

What is the difference between Parental Control & Purchase Protection?

• Parental Control lets you protect your family from watching programs you don't want them to.
• Purchase Protection prevents unwanted purchases of Pay-per-View or iControl programs.
• You can make these two PIN numbers the same or different.

Changing the PIN Numbers

1. To change either PIN number, press the SETTINGS button on your remote control.
   
   
   
2. Press the A button to display the General Settings menu.
   
   
   
3. Press the UP or DOWN arrow buttons to find either Blocking PIN or Purchase PIN.
   
   
   
4. After you highlight your choice, you will see whether your PIN is enabled or disabled. The PIN must be enabled in order to change it.
   
   
5. Press the SELECT button.
   
   
   
6. Press the UP or DOWN arrow buttons to choose Change. Press the SELECT button again.
   
   
   
   
   
7. Enter your current PIN Number when prompted.
   
   
   
   Tip:
   
   If you have not yet set up a PIN, the default number is usually 0000.

8. Now enter a new PIN number when prompted. You will need to enter the new PIN number twice to verify it.
   
   Tip:
   
   Always use a number you know you can remember. But if you ever do forget your PIN, call Customer Service and they will help you create a new one.
   
   
9. When you follow these steps correctly, you will see a screen that confirms your PIN has been changed.
   
   
10. Press the A button to accept the change.
    
    
    
11. Press the EXIT button to return to watching regular television.
