Setting up Purchase Protection | Disabling Purchase PIN

What is Purchase Protection?

• Purchase Protection allows you to prevent others from ordering Pay-Per-View or iControl Programs without your permission.
• You do this by setting up a Purchase PIN number that must be entered before any purchases are made.

Setting up Purchase Protection

1. Press the SETTINGS button on your remote control to display the Quick Settings menu, and then press the A button to display the General Settings menu.
   
   
   
   
2. Press the UP or DOWN arrow buttons to find Purchase PIN.
   
   
   
   
   
   
3. If you have not yet set up Purchase Protection, you will see that the Purchase PIN is Disabled.
   
   
   
   
4. Press the SELECT button.
   
   
   
   
5. Press the UP or DOWN arrow buttons to choose ENABLE and press the SELECT button again.
   
   
6. Enter your 4-digit PIN number when prompted.
   
   
   

   Tip:
   
   If you have not set up a PIN Number for Purchase Protection, the default number is usually 0000.

   Note:

   You have a separate PIN Number for Blocking Programs and Purchase Protection. Although the default for both may be 0000, changing one does not change the other. You have to change each of them separately.

7. Press the A button to accept your choice. Your Purchase PIN is now enabled and all purchasing requires PIN entry.
   
   
   
   
8. Press the EXIT button to return to watching TV.
   
   
   

   
   Tip:

• We recommend you change the PIN from the default 0000 to something unique that you can remember. For added security, it's a good idea to change your Purchase PIN on a regular basis.

• If you forget your PIN number, or if the default PIN is not 0000, call customer service and they will help reset your PIN number.

Disabling Purchase PIN

1. Press the SETTINGS button on your remote control to display the Quick Settings menu, and then press the A button to display the General Settings menu.
   
   
2. Press the UP or DOWN arrow buttons to find Purchase PIN.
   
   
3. Press the SELECT button.
   
   
4. Press the UP or DOWN arrow buttons to choose ENABLE and press the SELECT button again.
   
   
5. Enter your 4-digit PIN number when prompted.
   
   
6. Press the A button to accept your choice. Your Purchase PIN is now disabled and purchasing does not require PIN entry.
   
   
7. Press the EXIT button to return to watching TV.
