Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ  >> Digital Phone Service  >> Phone Compatibility
Q:Will Digital Phone interfere with my wireless home networking or vice versa?
A:Wireless Internet and the technology that it uses, namely Wi-Fi technology, operate in the 2.4 or 5 GHz radio bands. These are the same frequencies used by many cordless phones, microwaves, baby monitors, and other wireless devices. At one time or another, all of us have experienced the annoyance of hearing static or even dropped calls on our home phones or cell phones. With wireless data, this interference can sometimes translate into speeds that are slower than you are used to with Road Runner. Fortunately, Wi-Fi technology continues to improve.
