Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ  >> High Speed Online  >> Game Console Installation
Q:Can I use a USB Cable Modem for my game console?
A:Yes. If you don't have an Ethernet hub or router, then you may consider using a USB cable modem. This cable modem converts the broadband signal into data understandable to your game console or other wired device and vice-versa. For game console connection, if you have a cable modem that connects directly to your machine via USB, then you will need a second network card to connect to the game console. Note that if you have a USB Ethernet adapter for use with your Cable Uplink you can use any of the other configurations since a USB Ethernet adapter is basically just a type of network card. An additional card is ONLY needed if your Cable Modem connects directly to your machine via USB (no network cable).
