| A: | | The Explorer 2000 converter gives you access to our Digital Cable channels, Digital Premium and Multiplex channels, an expanded number of Pay-Per-View movie channels, sports packages, and Digital Music from our video-on-demand service. The following guide will assist you in getting your converter connected to your television, VCR and RECEIVER, and programming your converter. Connecting the Explorer 2000 to Your Television Note: Before connecting your converter, install the power cord into the back of the Explorer 2000 first, but do not plug the power cord of the Explorer 2000 into the electrical outlet. To connect the Explorer 2000 to your television:
- Connect a coaxial cable to the cable outlet in the wall.
- Connect the same coaxial cable into the Cable Input on the back of the Explorer 2000.
- Connect a second coaxial cable from the Cable Output on the back of the Explorer 2000 to the cable fitting on your television set. (If you are installing a VCR also, use the directions illustrated below to correctly install all components. Keep in mind, the Explorer 2000 must be the first piece of equipment connected to the cable outlet. All equipment connected after the Explorer 2000 must be set to channel 3 at all times.)
- Next, plug the Explorer 2000 electrical cord into the wall outlet. Be certain to use an outlet that cannot be turned off by a wall switch. Do not turn on the converter or the TV until the clock appears on the front of the box. Do not unplug the converter unless the clock is showing (doing so will shut it down completely).
- Plug your television power cord into the power outlet on the back of the Explorer 2000 but do not turn on the television. Now, when you turn on your converter, your television will also turn on, unless the television on/off switch is electronically controlled. If the on/off switch is electronically controlled, turn on the converter first and then turn on the television. If the converter power outlet is set for ALWAYS ON, you will have to turn off your television separately.
- Once the clock appears, tune your television to channel 3.
Do not use a wrench to tighten the cable connections to your television and your converter; be sure that these connections are "finger-tight" only. The Explorer 2000 is a sensitive electronic component - avoid subjecting it to bumps, jars or excessive vibration and do not place heavy objects on top of the converter or block air flow to the vents.
