Dinesh (Dinni) Jain has served as Chief Operating Officer of Time Warner Cable since January 2014. He oversees the company’s three main lines of business: Residential Services, which offers video, high-speed data and voice services to nearly 15 million U.S. customers; Time Warner Cable Business Services, which offers data, video, voice and cloud-enabled hosting services to businesses of all sizes; and Time Warner Cable Media, which offers national, regional and local companies innovative advertising solutions. Mr. Jain is also responsible for Time Warner Cable’s Technology and Network Operations, product development and content acquisition functions, as well as its news, local sports and regional sports networks. Based in the company's New York City headquarters, Mr. Jain reports to Robert D. Marcus, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Jain has more than 20 years of experience in the U.S. and European cable and telecommunications industries. He is the former President and Chief Operating Officer of Insight Communications, a cable company serving subscribers in Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio, which Time Warner Cable acquired in 2012. He joined Insight in 2002 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, before being named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2003. Mr. Jain was promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer in 2006, serving in that capacity until the company was sold in 2012.
Mr. Jain is credited with creating a consumer-focused culture at Insight. Under his leadership, Insight’s customer satisfaction scores increased by almost 50 percent between 2003 and 2009. He also re-engineered Insight’s sales, marketing, customer service and product development functions, resulting in video, high-speed data and voice subscriber growth and penetration levels that ranked among the best in the industry.
Prior to joining Insight, Mr. Jain served in a number of roles in sales, marketing, customer service, strategy, corporate development and general management positions at NTL Incorporated, one of Europe’s leading cable and telecommunications companies, from 1994 to 2002. He ultimately served as Deputy Managing Director of NTL’s Consumer Division, overseeing customer and new business growth, as well as the quality of customer satisfaction. Previously, he held positions at Cellular Communications, Inc.; Barclays De Zoete Wedd; and Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette.
Mr. Jain was awarded the cable industry’s Vanguard Award for Cable Operations Management in 2009. He serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations, including Windham Foundation; The Bunbury Company; The Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association; Sustainable Princeton; and The Dadawas Initiative. Mr. Jain attended Princeton University.
