Marc Lawrence-Apfelbaum is Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Time Warner Cable Inc. and has been at the company for more than 20 years. He is responsible for oversight of TWC’s legal affairs, including legal and policy issues relating to TWC’s cable, high speed data, business services and programming offerings. Lawrence-Apfelbaum also oversees TWC’s Security Department and leads several cross-department initiatives, including those relating to Enterprise Risk Management, cyber security and corporate governance. Prior to joining TWC, he was an associate at the law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore where he worked on many matters for TWC’s predecessor company and its former parent.
In addition to his responsibilities at TWC, Lawrence-Apfelbaum serves on the boards of the Media Law Resource Center, a not-for-profit created by media companies to promote rights under the First Amendment, and Learning Leaders, a not-for-profit that recruits, trains and supports more than 10,000 school volunteers who work with more than 230,000 students in public schools throughout New York City. He also serves on the Board of Advocates of Human Rights First, an international human rights organization.
Lawrence-Apfelbaum holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Georgetown University, where he served as an editor on The Law Review.
