A network adapter is an interface device that provides individual connectivity to the devices and resources within the home network. This device receives the information sent from the WiFi router. Network adapters come in several varieties, including internal and external, as well as wired and wireless. Most modern computers come with either or both a wired or wireless internal network adapter. If the computer does not have a network adapter, a USB wireless network adapter can be used. Most smartphones and tablets ship with built-in WiFi network adapters.
