What are the differences between renting and buying videos?:

Renting: When you rent a movie, you have 30 days from when you rent to start watching. You can watch the video anytime during those 30 days. Once you have started watching, however, you have a 24-hour window to finish watching. Once the rental period is over, the video will automatically disappear from your video library. Television shows are not available for rent.

Buying: When you buy a movie or TV show, you own the video outright. You can watch it as many times as you like, now or later, subject to terms of use.
