Can I change my settings so that Closed Captioning appears only when mute is on?

Answer:

Yes you can. If you have the Navigator™ on-screen TV guide, within the Settings menu you can adjust your settings on your set-top box to turn on captions only when mute is enabled.

 

To adust settings:

    1. Press the SETTINGS button on your remote.
    2. Scroll left or right to the Quick Settings category.
    3. Scroll down to select the Closed Captioning option and press SELECT.
    4. Scroll up or down to highlight On with Mute and press SELECT.
