What is a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and what does it do?:

A DVR is a Set-Top Box that records TV programs in a digital format to a disk drive or other memory medium within a device.

A Time Warner Cable DVR-enabled Set-Top Box puts your TV on your schedule so you can watch what you want, when you want. Using your remote control, you can set it to automatically find and digitally record your favorite shows for playback at a later time. DVR also gives you the power to pause and rewind live TV so you can create your own instant replays and to record two shows at the same time.
