How do I access HBO GO or MAX GO?

Answer:

You can access HBO GO or MAX GO content by the following steps:

  • First, you will need to subscribe to HBO as part of your video package to view HBO GO and/or subscribe to Cinemax to view MAX GO content.
  • Ensure your device meets the minimum requirements for accessing HBO GO and MAX GO.

If accessing HBO GO/MAX GO by:                      

Minimum Requirements by Device
Computer
  • Requires high speed Internet connection. Internet Connection 3.0Mbps or greater (for HD content).
  • Adobe Flash 10.0 or higher.
  • For Windows: Intel Pentium 4.3Ghz processor (or equivalent), 512 MB of RAM/128MB of VRAM.
  • For Macintosh: Intel Core Duo 1.83Ghz or faster processor, 512MB of RAM/128MB of VRAM.
Apple iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone
  • The minimum iOS requirement is 3.2 or higher for Apple iPhone 3GS or 4, iPad, and iPod Touch (3rd and 4th generation).
  • If you do not have this version of the iOS, you will receive an error when trying to log in to the App and will need to upgrade the iOS.
  • Please visit the Apple support site to upgrade your iOS http://www.apple.com/support/.
Android
  • Devices running Android 2.1-4.02 (Gingerbread, Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich) are supported.
  • If you do not have the latest version of the Google OS, you will receive an error when trying to log in to the App and will need to upgrade the supported Google OS.
  • Please visit the Android support site to upgrade your Google OS https://market.android.com/
Other Devices
  • Xbox 360®: For Xbox 360® users, an Xbox LIVE Gold® membership is also required
  • Select Samsung® Smart TVs: HBO GO is not compatible with all models of Samsung® Smart TVs.
    Please visit the HBO GO website for a list of compatible Samsung® Smart TVs.
  • Kindle Fire (HBO GO is supported, but MAX GO is not available at this time)

  • Have a TWC ID **
  • Your TWC ID credentials can be created through the “Register Now” link on the Time Warner Cable Login page for HBO GO or MAX GO or
  • Create an HBO GO account to view HBO GO content. The HBO GO account is created the first time you select Sign Up and follow the registration instructions. And/or create a MAX GO account to view MAX GO content. The MAX GO account is created the first time you select Sign Up and follow the registration instructions.

Please note: only an HBO GO ID (or for MAX GO, a MAX GO ID) that you create the first time you access the service is required. All other information requested on the HBO/MAX Sign Up page is optional.

**Please note: If you have already registered a Time Warner Cable Username and Password to access any of the following apps or features, you will need to use the same Username and Password credentials:

  • VoiceZone
  • Call History
  • Mobile Manager
  • TWC TV™ for devices
  • DVR Manager
  • Online order placed as an existing customer
  • Watch ESPN
  • YES (MLB)
  • SPEED2
  • MyServices
