Why would an ESPN GamePlan game be "joined in progress?":

A "joined in progress" situation would normally occur in the following example: Game A is scheduled at noon on channel 1950 and Game B is scheduled at 3pm and also scheduled to air on channel 1950. College football games usually last approximately three hours. If Game A runs past 3pm, Game B will be joined in progress at the conclusion of Game A. ESPN GamePlan builds the schedule to minimize the number of instances where a game must be joined in progress.
