How can I activate my TV as a monitor using Windows XP?
Answer:
Right click on the desktop and select Properties. The display properties window will appear.
In the display properties window, select the Settings tab. (Note: The screen resolution section of this window is where you would adjust the resolution for your tv display.
In the window, drag the monitor icons to match the physical arrangement of your monitors area, right click on Monitor 2 and then select the Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor checkbox.
Drag the monitor icons to match the physical arrangment of your monitors area, right click on Monitor 2 and select Identify. You should see the number 2 show up on your TV screen. This means it has been identified as Monitor 2.
After you have identified your TV as Monitor 2, right click on Monitor 2 and select Attached.
Click the Apply button (the window will flash quickly).
Optional step: Once you have applied the new settings, drag Monitor 1 over on Monitor 2 with your mouse, and then click the Apply button. This will make monitor 2 (TV) your primary screen for viewing your favorite web stations.
Once all changes have been completed, click the OK button to close the system preferences window.
