    Check the Batteries
Are the batteries inserted correctly? Are the batteries drained? You may need to replace the batteries with new ones.

    Check the DTA
Is the DTA connected to the input of the TV? Is the DTA connected to the cable wall outlet? Is the DTA power cord connected to the power outlet?

    Check the TV
Is the TV power cord connected to the power outlet? Is the TV tuned to the correct channel to work with the DTA?

    Check the TV Code List
Is your TV's brand included in the code list? Sometimes there is more than one code for a TV's brand; please try to use different codes.

If you can't find your TV's brand in the list or you can't program your remote manually, you should perform the following steps:

  • Control Closed Captioning

If you have connected to the TV (or VCR/DVD Recorder) via the Digital Adapter’s “To TV” output (using a coaxial cable), you do not need to change any settings on the Digital Adapter. Instead, you need to follow the closed captioning display instructions in the TV manufacturer’s guide.

If you connected via the Digital Adapter’s HDMI output (using an HDMI cable) then the closed captioning is controlled by the Digital Adapter, and you need to follow these instructions:

    1. Press the Menu button on the Digital Adapter remote control

    2. Arrow down to "Captions" and press Enter

    3. To turn captions on or off, arrow up/down until "On" or "Off" is highlighted. Press Enter to make the selection (a check mark indicates the current selection).

    4. The captioning display can be further controlled by choosing between Auto Select and Manual Select modes. Use the arrow up/down keys to highlight the desired mode, and the Enter button to make a selection. If Manual Select is chosen, the arrow left/right keys are used to scroll through choices for the Enhanced and Standard settings.
