Troubleshooting Your Internet Connection | Time Warner Cable

  1. Ensure that your cable modem has not been moved from its original location. Often,your cable technician has modified the wiring that connects your cable modem to the rest of the coaxial cable in your house, and it may not work in another location.
  2. Ensure that your television and Xbox are powered on and set to the proper settings as illustrated in the Xbox materials.
  3. Make sure that all of the cables to and from the Xbox and the cable modem are securely connected, and that they are of the correct type.
  4. Once all of the cables are connected securely to all of the units, if the Xbox is still having issues connecting to the Internet, turn off the Xbox unit and reboot the cable modem by unplugging it either from the wall or from the back of the modem.
