Time Warner Cable's Commitment to Education
At Time Warner Cable we're committed to improving local education with our technology and programming resources. Students of all ages and educators can access an excellent portal to using the Internet for education by going to aol@school.

Cable in the Classroom
Currently we provide all schools in our service area with free Preferred Cable service and more than 540 hours of commercial-free, copyright-extended educational programming per month to enhance traditional learning through an extensive program called Cable in the Classroom or CIC.

Some of this programming is specifically created for the CIC, such as CNN's daily "CNN Newsroom/World View." Other networks reformat documentaries or other programs into "teacher-friendly" modules.

In addition to the free cable connection and programming, each school also receives the monthly guide that lists all the programs by subject area as well as provides sample lesson plans, technical support and program links.

Because all CIC designated programs are copyright cleared, schools usually videotape desired segments that can then be used whenever desired. Similarly, individuals may also tape these programs for later use. For more information and to see the online guide, visit www.ciconline.org.
