Wiring Instructions for Terminal Hookup
Following are step-by-step instructions for hooking up your digital terminal to your TV. The diagram is color coded and numbered to make it easier to read. Your actual cables will not be these colors.
Please begin with the following:
Copy the serial number of your digital terminal.
The number is on a sticker on the bottom of your digital terminal and it has a bar code on it. The serial number will begin with the letters "GI." You will need this number if you have a problem or question with your digital terminal so it's good to keep the number in an easily accessible place.
Choose a good place for your digital terminal.
The digital terminal generates a lot of heat (similar to a personal computer) so it must be placed in a well ventilated area. Leave at least three inches of space around the sides and above the digital terminal. Important Note: Do not place anything, including plants, papers, etc. on top of the digital terminal.
Before you start:
- Unplug AC power to TV.
- Carefully position all connections before screwing them in to avoid crooked screwing or "cross threading." The connectors should be hand tightened to a tight stop and should cover half the threads on the connection when properly tightened.
- Use 75-ohm coaxial cables for all connections.
1A. Hooking up a Non-Stereo TV and Terminal:

Cables You Will Need:
1 - 8 ft cable (green)
1 - 4-ft. cable (black)

1. Connect the 8' cable from your wall or floor outlet (colored green in this diagram) and connect it to your terminal at the CABLE IN connection.
2. Connect one end of the 4' cable (colored black in this diagram) to your terminal at the TO TV connector. (Looking at the terminal from the back, the TO TV connector is located on your far left.)
3. Connect the other end of this cable (colored black in this diagram) to your TV at the VHF IN connector. NOTE: this connection may also be labeled ANT IN, RF IN, CABLE IN etc.
4. Make sure your TV is on channel 3 before using.

1B. Hooking up a Stereo TV and Terminal:

Cables You Will Need:
1 - 8 ft. cable (green)
1 - set of audio/video cables (red, white and yellow)

1. Connect the 8' cable from your wall or floor outlet (colored green in this diagram) and connect it to your terminal at the CABLE IN connection.
2. Connect the set of 3 AUDIO/ VIDEO cables (colored red, white and yellow) to your terminal at the set of connections labled Audio OUT R, and Audio OUT L, Video OUT (Looking at the terminal from the back, these connections are located in the middle of the terminal.)
3. Connect the other ends of these cables (colored red, white and yellow) to your TV at the Video and Audio IN connections.
4. Make sure your TV is on set on "Video" before using. NOTE: It may be listed as "External Input"

1 - 8ft. cable (green)
1 set of audio/video cables (red, white and yellow)
1 set of audio cables (red and white)

NOTE: Before beginning, check your equipment to make sure you have the necessary number of connectors to serve this stereo configuration. If not, rather than using a set of three audio/video cables, you may just have to use one cable to deliver all the audio (which will no longer be input in stereo) and video.

1. Connect the 8' cable from your wall or floor outlet (colored green in this diagram) and connect it to your terminal at the CABLE IN connection.
2. Connect the set of 3 AUDIO/ VIDEO cables (colored red, white and yellow) to your terminal at the set of connections labled Audio OUT R, and Audio OUT L, Video OUT (Looking at the terminal from the back, these connections are located in the middle of the terminal.)
3. Connect the other ends of these cables (colored red, white and yellow) to your TV at the Video and Audio IN connections.
4. Connect the set of audio cables (colored red and white) to your TV at the AUDIO R and L OUT connectors. NOTE: make sure the colors of the cables match the color of the connectors.
5. Connect the other end of these cables to the Surround Sound unit at the AUDIO R and L IN connectors.
6. Make sure your TV is on set on "Video" before using. NOTE: It may be listed as "External Input"
