Time Warner Cable’s Champion Principal Award
Dr. Chris Deibler
Pound Middle School
Lincoln, Nebraska
Dr. Chris Deibler recognizes and understands that technology offers important and effective learning tools to reach students with a variety of academic abilities and economic backgrounds. At Pound Middle School, he strongly supports the use of technology and cable programming and provides the funding and support staff to incorporate the technology throughout the classrooms. Whether it’s a core or an elective class, students are exposed to a variety of technology and media including iMovie, video streaming, podcasting, powerpoint, pre-recorded cable programs, websites, software programs, Garage Band, Excel and more. Dr. Deibler established a Learning Web committee, held a technology fair for students and launched “Tech Tuesdays,” an after school class for teachers unfamiliar with some of the new technology. In addition, Dr. Deibler practices what he preaches by modeling the latest in technology and by using powerpoints and video streaming during his presentations for both teacher and parent gatherings. For all this and more, Dr. Chris Deibler has been named Time Warner Cable’s first Champion Principal.
