What is it like to work at Time Warner Cable?
"The people are great to work with!! Everyone works together as a team so things run smoothly. This requires a lot of effort, but somehow we all pull through. Benefits are excellent. I still enjoy my job, as it's ever changing. I am responsible for sorting/assigning orders to installers, techs, and contractors. I also take customer complaint calls, go out and repair misdrilled holes or run difficult outlets,as well as installing Commercial Businesses. Lead Installers work closely with all departments in the company. The week we are in the office, we come in early and stay late."

employee since 1980

What is it like to work at Time Warner Cable?
NEVER a dull moment!!!  Working in one of the "hub" offices in SE Nebraska my duties are very diversified.  We handle front counter, dispatch, converter control, check in orders, collections, answer incoming calls for the entire division and various other jobs.I also assist other CSR's when dealing with a customer, billing issue or procedure question.  I have seen a lot of change in my 25 years in the cable industry.  The technology has evolved from a 12 channel system to our current Digital Phone service.  How's that for PROGRESS!!

What would you tell someone who is interested in working at TWC?
Go for it…..Time Warner Cable is always looking ahead.  They provide excellent benefits and job opportunities.  It has been a good career choice for me and my family.

Jim
Lead Technician (York)
employee since 1985

What is it like to work at Time Warner Cable?
Hectic, some days overwhelming, but overall a great place to be employed. Working in the outlying service areas allows an individual to cross train in all field areas; Installation, Technical, Customer Service, Computer Issues, Construction, Signal Sweeping and now Phone Installations and Technical.  We get involved with all products and are proud to be able to do so.

What would you tell someone who is interested in working at TWC?
If you thrive on variety, relish the thought of a great benefits plan, and want to be on the cutting edge of video, high speed data, and VOIP phone technology, you came to the right place.

Ruth
Customer Service Representative (Columbus, Nebraska)
employee since 1996

What is it like to work at Time Warner Cable?
Most days it is interesting, we're kind of like a family in Customer Service, with lots of interaction daily which is nice. When I started in 1996 I was in Ad Sales until September 2003 so of course my whole world at TWC has changed.  Just in that short time since Sept 2003,  we have changed billing systems, started taking calls from hubs as well as Lincoln, and of course, added the phone service.  Always a new challenge every day.

What would you tell someone who is interested in working at TWC?
We have great benefits, and the people I work with are terrific to work with.

Todd
Lead Technician
employee since 1982

What is it like to work at Time Warner Cable?
"I really enjoy my job.  I do the majority of the fiberoptics technology plus all of the signal leakage program for the Nebraska Division.  I also maintain the cable system from the headend to the customer’s home.
On a nonaverage day, night, weekend, or holiday--I respond to calls involving fiber damage anywhere in the Nebraska Division to get our services all back up and running as quickly as possible.  I also do numerous early morning projects when we are taking large areas down so we don’t impact the customers as much.

What would you tell someone who is interested in working at TWC?
"Time Warner Cable offers a great benefits package plus it is a great place to work if you want to be with a company that is on the leading edge of technology.  For all of my extra efforts that I have put in for the company, I was awarded Employee of the Year a few years ago and received a trip to Puerto Rico for it."

Georgia
Sales & Retention Specialist
employee since 1998

What is it like to work at Time Warner Cable?
"It's really great.  I like both the internal and external customers.  There's rarely a dull moment.  I sell Time Warner products, which is a pleasure as there are none better out there!  We interact with other departments quite a bit.  Sales is the bridge between the customer and the company.  That's why I know how great my co-workers are, because they have often gone out of their way to help me assist a customer."

What would you tell someone who is interested in a job here?
"Go for it!  Working with TWC introduces you to an even better Nebraska through the provision of excellent services with an outstanding company.  How can one beat those odds?"

Shawn
Lobby Customer Service Representative
employee since 2002

What is it like to work at Time Warner Cable?
"Unpredictable.  I take payments, issue equipment and explain how to hook it up.  It's my job to promote and sell products and services.   The customer service department affects the Installation department, while what the Marketing department affects Customer Service.  Many days, I'm calling someone from another department for information to answer a customer's question.  Customers are often asking very technical questions about their internet or engineering issues. In general I promote goodwill and represent the company in a positive manner"

What would you tell someone who is interested in a job here?
"I love it here.  I really do.  I get along great with everyone and I enjoy my work.  I would encourage anyone with good communication skills to apply."

David
Ad Sales Account Executive
employee since 1986

What is it like to work at Time Warner Cable?
"Much like a quarterback who must think on his feet and react to whatever the defense throws at you-  I can hand it off, throw it, or my favorite move is to run with the ball.  I try to keep focused on the customer and do whatever is best for my clients. I specifically use cable advertising to match my customers products with their most important target audience."

What would you tell someone who is interested in a job here?
"The environment at TWC is one where from top to bottom the focus is on the customer. I would highly recommend Time Warner as a place where the employee is valued and that change is a common as the Nebraska wind."

Matt
Digital Phone/ PAC Supervisor
employee since 2000

What is it like to work at Time Warner Cable?
"Time Warner Cable to me is a lot like a family.  There are some days that are not perfect, but everyone in the end comes together and pitches in to help make things right.  Without that type of teamwork I do not think we could be as successful as the company is.  Time Warner is always changing in the services we offer, such as our new digital phone product.  These challenges are important when it comes to how customers perceive the work we do.  In the end it is worth it when one of our customers call to thank us for working hard to fix a technical issue or in helping them save money."

What would you tell someone who is interested in working at TWC?
"I would tell anyone interested in working at TWC that you will definitely learn a lot working here. The cable industry is always changing. Since I started working here in mid-2000 we have added many lines of business, from our rollout of Digital Cable in summer of 2000, to the roll out of Road Runner High Speed online in fall of 2000. Then the addition of Multiple Internet Service Providers in spring of 2001, the launch of our Digital Video Recorder in summer of 2002 and now our current offering of Digital Phone in fall of 2004. It amazes me that so much has happened in the past four years. No matter where the future of the cable industry is headed next, I'm sure it will not only be exciting, but will be an adventure. After seeing all the work that has gone on over the past four years I truly think there can be no better slogan than "Now Anything is Possible" for Time Warner Cable and the future."
