About Time Warner Cable’s Community Initiatives:

Time Warner Cable is a good community partner who donates annually to various community organizations. We are committed to providing support to organizations that support education and literacy, technology, community empowerment and arts and culture.  Time Warner Cable is proud to assist these local initiatives that have a distinct and positive impact within our service area.
Preference is given to projects/organizations that will provide a good strategic partnership for Time Warner Cable’s New England Division and also have a well-defined purpose which is within our scope of giving, namely having a local effect on at least one of our four key priorities:

  • Arts & Culture
  • Literacy & Education
  • Technology
  • Community groups

Points of Consideration:

  • Preference is given to organizations located within our service area
  • How does the request compare with other organizations seeking funds for the same type of endeavor? Is there a real need for this program/event?
  • Has Time Warner Cable ever donated to this organization before? How much and when?
  • Can the organization or proposed project achieve positive social impact by bringing people together to strengthen community?
  • Time Warner Cable also donates in-kind goods and services that include production and/or airtime of public service announcements on over 50 cable networks to promote their event/organization. Gift certificates for services may also be requested.
  • Due to the high volume of donation requests that we receive, we ask that all organizations re-apply annually. We cannot guarantee reoccurring donations/sponsorships.

Areas of Exclusion
As a general rule, Time Warner Cable does not consider funding for the following:

  • Organizations that do not have 501(c) (3) tax-exempt status

TWCares  www.twcares.com

Time Warner Cable launched TWCares in June 2000.  This program is designed to help create public awareness about local nonprofits throughout the Time Warner Cable New England service area.
The name focuses on the publicity Time Warner Cable can bring to an organization utilizing a combination of the company’s resources, such as production services, cross-channel promotion, billing statement messages, and a one time financial contribution.
