There can be many reasons why you are experiencing cable service difficulties. They can range from relocation of existing equipment to property construction to new system components to sun outages to cable outages. While we do everything in our power to deliver the best possible cable television picture to your home, occasionally you may experience a reception problem.
Cable Outages
Although they do not happen often, cable outages can effect your neighborhood's cable services. We consider a cable outage when there are two or more households without cable service in the same vicinity. Cable outages are usually caused by severe weather, automobile accidents, and construction activities. If you believe that you are part of a cable outage, please call Customer Service to verify.
Changes in Equipment?
Have you recently added, installed, or moved any new cable services equipment? This would include new cable outlets, televisions, VCRs, cable boxes, and DVD players. If so, there is a possibility that a connection might have been bumped or the new component is not installed properly. Make sure all of the connections are secure, and review the proper set-up of each piece of equipment in the equipment set-up guide.
Sun Outages
Twice a year, due to the earth's wobble, the sun lines up directly behind each geosynchronous satellite. When this happens, the tremendous power of the sun completely overpowers the vary faint satellite signals. This causes a "Sun Outage." Sun Outages normally occur in the Fall and last no longer than an hour.
