
Michael J. Haught
Vice President of Human Resources
Michael Haught is Vice President of Human Resources for the Northeast Ohio Division of Time Warner Cable. He is responsible for employee and labor relations, organizational development, recruitment, compensation, benefits and training for the 1,300 employees with Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Haught oversees all local, state and federal employment regulations, and ensures positive employee relations within the company.
Haught was first introduced to the cable industry through a family owned business that operated a small cable system in rural West Virginia; he was a technician and customer service representative. In 1993, Haught served in the Department of Health and Human Resources and the Division of Labor. From Human Resources at the City Colleges of Chicago, Haught was re-introduced to the cable industry in 1998 with TCI in Chicago where he managed the acquisition of three cable systems and the assimilation of 400 employees into the workforce as part of AT&T Broadband’s acquisition of TCI. Haught was later part of the AT&T Broadband leadership team in Atlanta, GA. After the acquisition of AT&T Broadband, Haught led the Human Resources effort for Comcast’s operations in Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, and later in Western Pennsylvania. Under his leadership as the Vice President of Human Resources and Labor Relations, the Pittsburgh Business Times reported his company as one of the “Best Places to Work in Western Pennsylvania” by employees. Haught assumed his current position as Vice President of Human Resources for Time Warner Cable Northeast Ohio, one of the largest cable divisions in the country, in 2006.
Originally from Fairview, West Virginia, Haught graduated from West Virginia University with a B.A. Degree in Psychology and English. He is currently pursuing an M.S. in Management through the University of Maryland.
Haught is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management and the Human Resources Management Association of Pittsburgh. He is active with the Cable and Telecommunications Human Resource Association, Women in Cable and Telecommunications and the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communication (NAMIC).
Haught serves as a board member for Boys Hope-Girls Hope of Pittsburgh – an organization that offers at-risk children a stable home, positive parenting, and high quality education to reach their full potential.
