Installation Using A/V Cable: PS one™ - Back to Top

If you have the console installed using the supplied A/V cable, please make sure that the cable is installed into the back of the console in the A/V Multi out port. Please make sure that the cord is inserted firmly. Next, follow the cord to the back of your television or VCR. Make sure that these ends of the A/V cable are connected to the audio and video inputs.
It may be necessary to have your television or VCR on a specific channel in order for the picture to appear. Usually, a button on the remote control must be pressed in order to activate this specific setting. Some common names for this button are: Line, Input, Video, Aux or Auxiliary, Tuner or TV/Video, or you may need to set your television or VCR to channel 00, 90, 91, or 92. If none of these buttons are marked on your remote control, you may wish to refer to the instruction manual for your TV or VCR or contact the manufacturer of that product directly.
If you are still unable to receive a picture, you may wish to try another set of A/V cables, or try to connect your system to another television. If this situation persists, the console itself may need repairs.
Installation Using RFU Adaptor: PS one console - Back to Top
First, it is important to make sure that the RFU adaptor is manufactured by Sony Computer Entertainment America. It should be marked with the model #SCPH-1121. When installing the console using this RFU adaptor, please make sure it is inserted firmly into the back of the console A/V MULTI OUT, located on the back of the unit.
Next, make sure that the other end of the RFU adaptor is connected to the coaxial port on your television set. Be sure that the channel selected on your television matches the channel selected on the RFU adaptor. If you need to change the channel on the RFU adaptor, locate the channel selection switch located on the end of the RFU adaptor connected directly to the console.
If, after following these step, you still do not see a picture, attempt to connect the console using the supplied A/V cable, to ensure the system is functioning properly. If you still do not see a picture after following all of these steps, the console itself may need repair.
