Volume Control Option - Back to TopYou can set up the AT2300 to control volume and mute functions through the Explorer Home Terminal, or through your TV (factory default).
To switch volume/mute control from the TV to the Explorer Home Terminal:
- Point the remote control away from the Explorer Home Terminal, TV, and VCR.
- Press and hold CBL and SELECT at the same time until the light blinks twice.
- Press 9 9 3, then CBL. The light blinks twice.
- To make sure programming was done correctly, aim the remote at the Explorer and press VOL +, VOL -, or MUTE. The volume setting on the Explorer should change.
To switch volume/mute control back to the TV:
- Point the remote control away from the Explorer Home Terminal, TV, and VCR.
- Press and hold CBL and SELECT at the same time until the light blinks twice.
- Press 9 9 3, then press TV. The light blinks twice.
- To make sure programming was done correctly, aim the remote at the TV and press VOL +, VOL -, or MUTE. The volume setting on the TV should change.
Setup: If the AT2300 does not operate the TV or VCR properly, or if it operates some but not all of the remote control commands,
- Try all the codes listed for the device.
- Try the search method.
Many devices use similar remote control codes. While searching the library, you may lock onto a similar code for which only some commands work. Start the Searching The Code Library method over. Repeat the process until you find the correct code.
Operation: If the red indicator light does not blink when you press a key, or if the operation is intermittent, replace both batteries with two new AA alkaline batteries. Replace both batteries at the same time.
Searching The Code Library - Back to TopIf none of the listed TV or VCR codes work, you can enter a code that searches the library of codes. The remote control automatically selects the proper code for your TV or VCR. Make sure your TV or VCR is on before you program the remote control.
To search the library of TV codes,
- Turn on the TV.
- Point the remote control away from your TV.
- Press and hold TV and SELECT at the same time until the LED on the remote control blinks twice.
- Press 9 9 1. The light blinks twice.
- Point the remote control at your TV and press TV. Did the TV turn off?
Yes: Immediately press SELECT. The light blinks twice. Setup is complete. To make sure programming was done correctly, aim the remote at the TV and press TV. The TV should turn back on. Note: Now, be sure to follow Getting Your Codes, to find out the three-digit setup code. Write it down so you can use the direct setup method in the future.
No: Repeat step 5 until TV turns off.
To search the library of VCR codes, follow the procedure above, but substitute "VCR" for "TV" in each step.
Getting Your Code - Back to TopIf you've used the Searching the Code Library method to program your AT2300, or if you've misplaced your setup code, you can find out the loaded TV and VCR codes.
To get the TV code:
- Point the remote control away from the Explorer Home Terminal, TV, and VCR.
- Press and hold TV and SELECT at the same time until the light blinks twice.
- Press 9 9 0. The light blinks twice.
- Press 1, wait 1 second, then count the number of blinks. This is the first number in the code. For example, 4 blinks means the first number in the code is 4.
- Press 2, pause, and count the number of blinks. This is the second number.
- Press 3, pause, and count the number of blinks. This is the third number.
- Write down the code for future reference.
To get the VCR code, follow the steps above, but substitute "VCR" for "TV" in step 1. Write down the code for future reference.
