Everil Davis
Training & Communications Representative
Customer Service Department
Hudson Valley
If you’re looking for an extended family, you’ll really enjoy working at Time Warner Cable. I’ve been an employee at the Hudson Valley division for 8 years, and I can honestly say we treat each other like family. I decided to begin my career as a Customer Service Representative in 1997 because, although it sounds clichéd, I love helping people. I truly believe in Time Warner Cable’s products and working here gives me the opportunity to help out my co-workers, as well as people in my community. Early on, my managers recognized my people skills. Within six months I was training new representatives. A few years later I was promoted to train staff on new policies and procedures. Currently, I train new hire classes of Broad Band Service Reps on new products and services. It’s a six-week training and preparation class. I feel as though this job was custom made for me! I have a good rapport with the reps because I can relate to them on a personal level since I used to be one myself. The compliments I receive from my colleagues are my greatest reward. I take special pride in knowing that I’ve been tagged “one of the best trainers.” Time Warner Cable is a rapidly changing company that promotes career development. When I first started here, we offered two converter boxes and only two premium packages. Now we offer products that never seemed possible before. The sky is the limit for this technologically advanced company and I plan to be part of its steady growth.
Sheila Redford
Direct Sales Representative
Marketing & Sales
Flushing
Many people may think going from door to door trying to sell products in the impersonal city of New York is a difficult task. Although it can be trying at times, Time Warner Cable’s hi-tech, cutting edge products makes the job a lot easier. I have been a Direct Sales Representative since May of 2000 and really enjoy the challenge of making the sale. Much of my day consists of selling Time Warner’s digital phone and cable services to prospective customers in residential areas and street fairs. I’m also responsible for sales at special events and apartment building lobby demonstrations. The most rewarding part of my job is interacting with customers. Developing relationships and trust are key to succeeding in sales, especially when you need to meet a quota of 10 connections per week. My recipe for success at Time Warner is working hard and working smart. This may account for my top sales record. In fact, I’ve been recognized as a member of Time Warner Cable’s national sales Winner’s Circle. Time Warner Cable offers career growth and great benefits. These are just some of the reasons why I enjoy working here. I see myself being part of Time Warner Cable’s future success.
Vincent Guido
Survey & Design Engineer
Construction Department
Staten Island
If there’s a new apartment building or development requesting Time Warner Cable service, I’m the first person they need to call. As a Survey and Design Engineer, I’m responsible for drafting and designing cable plant extensions for new and existing multi-dwelling apartment building and developments. My job also entails conducting surveys of multi-dwelling units and providing direction to our construction department on what type of cable wire to use and where to install the wiring and equipment. I began working permanently at Time Warner Cable in May of 2002 after two years as a contractor during which I did Road Runner installations and handled PC trouble calls. I chose Time Warner because I no longer wanted to settle for just having a job. I wanted a career. I knew I could achieve that at TWC. The most rewarding aspect of my job is the constant challenge. Since I began, I’ve won two TQS awards and a trip to Puerto Rico. In 2002, I won TQS for launching OPI (one person install) and in 2003, I won for launching TWC’s wireless service. My formula for success is simple – I work hard everyday. And I recommend Time Warner Cable to anyone who is in search of a stable and challenging career.
Ronald Lee
Staff Writer
NY1News
Millions of people count on me every day to keep them informed about what’s going on in New York City. Although I’m behind the scenes, my job is extremely essential. As a Staff Writer in the news department at NY1 News, I’m responsible for writing the news stories the anchors read on air and editing the video clips that accompany the stories. You can also get a glimpse of my work if you tune in to the half hour weekly theatre show “On Stage,” where I produce, write intros, book the guests, conduct interviews and create the rundowns and cover stories for the show. The best part of my job is having creative control over the show and receiving positive feedback from people. I love being able to completely shape a show from beginning to end. I started at NY1 in 2001 as a Media Editor where my sole function was to ingest tapes into the server. But I quickly realized I had other interests. I was fortunate because I was able to help out in other departments where I gained experience in writing, as well as production and video shoots. My career quickly transitioned from media editor to full-time staff writer and now producer. NY1 is a great place to learn because it’s ripe with opportunities for growth. I really like the camaraderie the staff has with one another. Our employees run the gamut from rookies to new veterans. We’re constantly merging fresh ideas with seasoned expertise. I think this combination keeps us competitive and innovative. With the continuing evolution of technology, NY1 is always striving to reach higher levels of excellence by getting the stories out faster and creating a vibrant on-air look. This is why I like working at NY1 and am happy that I can call it home.
Perminder Hans
Project Manager
Marketing
When there’s a new product or service that Time Warner Cable plans to launch, I’m the person who ensures our customers receive the appropriate information. As Marketing Project Manager, my job is all about keeping customers informed of what we have to offer. It’s my responsibility to organize, implement, track, analyze and complete all marketing projects in a timely manner. I serve as a liaison between all departments and administer project deadlines, process flows, updates and analysis. My job includes doing day-to-day research, documentation, performance tracking, training and reporting updates of assigned projects. I started my career six years ago as a part-time telemarketing representative while I was completing my bachelor’s degree. I was consistently ranked as the top telemarketing representative. After I graduated, I landed the position of Telemarketing Supervisor. In 2004 I was promoted again to Project Manager. I attribute a lot of my progress to the strong support I had from my bosses. I’ve always had great relationships with them and consider them my mentors. One thing is for certain, if you are in search of a company that keeps pace with technology, Time Warner Cable is the place to be. We have a respectful environment here and it is easy to build lasting friendships. Time Warner is definitely my home away from home.

Digital Systems Manager
IT Department
As Digital Systems Manager, I oversee 15 employees who are responsible for supplying cable services such as video, Video On Demand and interactive applications through our digital system to the entire New York Metropolitan area. I like knowing that I support a system that allows people to unwind and enjoy their favorite television programs. I started as a high-school intern in the Human Resources department 10 years ago. Through hard work and support from various people, my career advanced. In 1996, I switched gears and became a part-time help desk representative in the Information Technology department. Following that, I moved on to IT Specialist, Digital Systems Administrator, Digital Systems Supervisor and to my current role as Manager. A career highlight was receiving the President’s Circle award for my role in deploying Video On Demand. Working at TWC means a great deal to me because the company really cares about employees. I’ve met some great people who have not only nurtured my professional aspirations but also fostered my personal development. Succeeding in the cable business requires hard work and giving 110%. Time Warner Cable is only going to get larger in terms of its products and employees, but I believe we will continue to maintain the same close-knit and positive atmosphere we have today. I look forward to the next 10 years.

NY1 News
Covering news in New York City, I’ve literally seen history unfold before my eyes. As a political reporter, I’m dedicated to following issues that affect New Yorkers, whether it’s on the local, state or federal level. Each day I cover news conferences and political events and am expected to create a story for NY1’s daily political show, “The Road to City Hall.” I write the script, review the tape and with the help of an editor, put together the story that ultimately airs. Political reporting can be exciting because it frequently involves an issue that’s at the center of heated debate. Emotions can run high in this arena. I like being able to present a balanced perspective of all sides. If I cover a story that helps even one person, that’s my greatest reward. I’ve covered important political races, protests, and tragedies. But for me, it’s the stories that directly impact people’s lives I find the most memorable, such as the transit strike in 2002, which I covered for four consecutive days on almost no sleep. I also broke a story about a new effort to help victims of domestic violence. I started my career at NY1 in 1998 as an intern and since then, I’ve worked my way up by learning almost every job in the newsroom. I’ve had the opportunity to work as an overnight editor, video photographer and field producer. This all culminated when I was given the opportunity to report on-air. The hands-on knowledge of all these jobs in the newsroom has helped me become a better reporter. NY1 is undoubtedly a place to learn and grow. We have a diverse mix of people who give us a unique depth of perspective on how we cover news. I love working at NY1 because I am part of a team that has and will continue to change the face of New York through our coverage of what people really care about in this dynamic city.

Technical Operations
Northern Manhattan
If you want to work for a company that’s at the forefront of technology, Time Warner Cable is definitely the place to be. I’m an Installation Technician responsible for troubleshooting service issues related to cable, high-speed data and digital phone services. If there’s a problem with a connection, I’m the person to go to. I began my career in 2002 as a Service Technician. My previous IT experience enabled me to move up the ranks fairly quickly. Currently I’m a Journeyman. I really enjoy my job because it allows me to meet different people. I also take pride in knowing that I contribute to TWC’s reputation as a world-class telecommunications provider. When I leave a customer smiling, I know I’ve done my job correctly. I like working at Time Warner Cable because it’s a diverse company that invests in its employees. I also like the fact that our success is the result of teamwork. It’s personally rewarding to know that I’m a piece of the big puzzle responsible for our success. We all co-exist and work hard to achieve one common goal -- to satisfy the customer.
