Cable Theft

Unauthorized cable hookups are a serious and expensive problem-both for us and our customers. Cable theft
reduces the quality of service you receive and can cause frequent disturbances or even interruptions in your service. Tampering with or altering a cable system line or converter to receive unauthorized services is a Federal crime punishable by fines and/or imprisonment.

The Cable Communications Policy Act of 1984 "prohibits
the unauthorized reception of communications service
over a cable system". In addition, the FCC determined in November, 1994 that the use of cable descramblers not authorized by cable systems is a violation of federal law.
