OUR BODY: THE UNIVERSE WITHIN

The Witte Museum presents the fascinating Our Body: The Universe Within exhibit through May 26. See first-hand how each of the intricate human body systems work by viewing actual human bodies and specimens. Displayed in a compelling and dignified environment, this exhibit allows visitors to look at the specimens for a deeper understanding of the body’s form, function, and uniqueness.

Conductor Edwin Outwater and the San Antonio Symphony present a program of one new American work and two French masterpieces. The concert features Gabriela Frank’s Three Latin-American Dances for Orchestra, Saint-Saëns Concert No. 3 in B minor for Violin and Orchestra, Op. 61 and Berlioz Symphonie fantastique, Op. 14.

TWC MOVIE IN THE PARK—FREE MOVIE SCREENING OF "STEEL MAGNOLIAS" 
Bring your blankets or chairs out to the park for a fun movie night celebrating mothers. The first 100 moms will receive a free flower, courtesy of Time Warner Cable, in honor of Mother’s Day. The fun begins at 7 p.m. with entertainment by Time Warner Cable’s employee band, Bandwidth. Picnic baskets are welcome. Concessions will be available for purchase. This event is sponsored by Time Warner Cable and the San Antonio Parks & Recreation Department.

1st Annual Texas Great American Tribute
The First Annual Texas Great American Tribute will honor Frank Denius, Austin civic leader and attorney and decorated World War II hero, and Darrell K Royal, The University of Texas’ all-time winningest head coach and community leader. The event will also feature a special presentation in honor of our troops and military supporters. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.

Hab-I-Tours are informational, guided bus tours of Habitat for Humanity communities in San Antonio. The tours provide insight into Habitat for Humanities mission, families, homes, and communities. Habitat for Humanity has successfully partnered with families to build over 500 homes in the S.A. community.

SAN ANTONIO SYMPHONY CLASSICAL 13

Young Finnish conductor Hannu Lintu, one of the most exciting new starts on the classical scene, joins the San Antonio Symphony for a concert of music by his countrymen plus a timeless classic by Beethoven. The program features Rautavaara Lintukoto (Isle of Bliss) Beethoven Concerto No. 4 in G major for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 56 and Sibelius Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 43.

MARCH OF DIMES – MARCH FOR BABIES WALK
March for Babies is one of the largest walking events both locally and nationally, generating thousands of dollars to support the March of Dimes campaign for healthier babies. In fact, San Antonio was the site of the first fundraising walk in the nation over 38 years ago. Volunteers throughout the San Antonio community solicit contributions from individual sponsors and then participate in the fun-filled morning of walking to celebrate their efforts to save babies from premature birth and other health problems. TWC-SA is a proud media sponsor of the 2008 March for Babies walk.

Boys Town Texas needs mentors to work one-on-one with child to build their academic skills by providing the extra study help they need.  Agency provides one-on-one training. Animal Welfare Society of Bandera County DESPERATELY needs volunteers at their adoption centers located in San Antonio at the PetsMart off of Loop 410 and Summit. Volunteers are needed for a couple of hours a week to help clean cages, change food and water, and socialize with each pet. South Texas Blood & Tissue Center needs volunteers to assist in recruiting blood donors, direct donors; serve refreshments and provide customer service duties.
