If the Device Doesn't Respond

DRC400/425 RemoteBefore continuing, if your device had more than one four-digit code listed, please check whether you tried all of them. If you did try them all and none of them worked, your remote has a feature that will search the library of codes for you.

Often manufacturers will put their brand name on devices made by others. The search process allows you to find the correct code for your TV or VCR.

Code Search

TV Example
To start the search, manually turn on your TV or VCR. Simply substitute in the instructions for to search for a VCR code.

  1. Press and hold the button until all mode buttons flash twice, then release. The device mode light should now be lit continuously.
  2. Press once.
  3. Press once. The device's mode light will flash on and off.
  4. If your device turns off, press to save the code. The device's mode light will blink three times, and you are finished.
  5. If your device does not turn off, then repeat steps two and three until it does, and then proceed to step four.

The device's code is now programmed into the remote control.
