Meals on Wheels/Christian Senior Services' elderly and disabled clients depend on receiving nutritious meals every day from our agency. Reach even more of our neighbors in need by volunteering on a meal route that has been under-served. Clients will always be happy to see you. Orientation provided.

Catholic Charities provides training to volunteers willing to conduct workshops for their Health Matters Program given 2 ½ hours once a week for seven weeks. Workshop is facilitated by two trained leaders, one of whom is a volunteer trained by community health educators for the Texas Diabetes Institute. Volunteers can be laypersons. Medical background is not necessary; just the desire to help teach those with on-going health conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Learn techniques that will help them to better manage their conditions on an everyday basis.

Connect for Life!
South Texas Blood and Tissue Center has excellent opportunities to learn and to support our mission. Clerical support to help with assembly of information packets for upcoming blood drives and marrow registries; assist with data verification, data entry, filing, mailings, and othere special projects as needed in various departments. Donor Recruitment Ambassadors to assist with recruiting potential (new) blood donors during sign-up opportunities. Orientation and training specific to each opportunity will be provided. Animal Welfare Society of Bandera County DESPERATELY needs volunteers at their adoption centers located in San Antonio at the PetsMart off of Loop 410 and Summit. Volunteers are needed for a couple of hours a week to help clean cages, change food and water, and socialize with each pet. Champion a Child
Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA) needs volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children. Commitment entails at least a year following a child through the court system: assessing and reporting the circumstances of child; and making recommendations to the judge in the best interest of the child. Volunteer Income Tax Preparers (VITA Program)
Catholic Charities is looking for volunteers for the 2009 tax season. As a volunteer tax preparer, greeter or clerical volunteer, you are needed from January through April 15. Each volunteer is asked to commit to 36 hours during the 13 week tax season. Year round speakers' bureau volunteers also needed.
