Are You a PC or a Mac?
EarthLink works on both. The table below lists the recommended minimum system requirements for using the EarthLink service.

 

 For optimal performance your computer should far exceed the system requirements listed.

Operating System	Windows Vista / 2000 / XP is recommended.  98* / Me* is supported on a 'best effort’ basis	OS X only (v10.0.0-10.2x)
Processor	Pentium 200 MHz or higher (233 MHz or higher for XP/Vista)	PowerPC G3 processor
Memory (RAM)	64 MB RAM or higher (128 MB RAM recommended for Windows 2000 or XP, as well as for subscribers using EarthLink TotalAccess 2005 with Parental Controls)	128MB or higher
Free Hard Drive Space	115 MB free hard disk space or greater	30 MB free hard disk space or greater
Networking Capability	Available USB port, or Available Ethernet port with RJ45 connector, or Available ISA/PCI/PCMCIA CardBus slot with an available IRQ	Available Ethernet port with RJ45 connector

 

The cable modem’s USB setup does not support the Macintosh operating system or the Windows 98 First Edition operating system. Available IRQ required for PCI, ISA, or PCMCIA CardBus installations where there is not an existing Ethernet card or USB port. Other restrictions may apply.
