- 'DVR'ing' Made Simple and Easy with Time Warner Cable
New York, NY, October 19, 2010 – Time Warner Cable launched Remote DVR Manager for customers in the New York City area today. Under the company’s My Services online platform, this new feature located under the MyTV tab allows customers to manage their DVRs from any web-enabled computer or browser-enabled mobile device. It enables customers to access their home DVR to record shows and series, to modify settings and to search for programming by various themes.
“We understand our customers lead busy lives and that’s why we developed this new resource for customers on the go. Remote DVR Manager offers the convenience and flexibility of managing DVR preferences via the computer or mobile device enabling customers to find and record programs when they’re away from home,” said Jeffrey Hirsch, Chief Marketing Officer, Time Warner Cable, East Region. “We plan to consistently add enhanced features, such as Remote DVR Manager, so each customer has the ultimate control with access to any content, on any device, anytime, anywhere.”
Through Remote DVR Manager, customers can schedule and modify both single and series recordings, correct scheduling conflicts and perform all the following actions from any Internet-connected computer or browser-enabled mobile device:
- Browse by genre or rating
- View TV listings for seven days with complete descriptions and cast information
- Use all recording options available (change Record, Start and End times, modify Save options)
- View all scheduled recordings • Schedule single episode or series recordings
- Cancel or modify a scheduled recording
- Name DVRs (i.e. “Family Room”, “Bedroom”) so they are easily identified when they are being accessed remotely.
This innovative enhancement is free to all Digital Cable customers in the New York City area. In order to access Remote DVR Manager, customers must first register for MyServices at http://myservices.timewarnercable.com. Time Warner Cable recently launched MyServices, an online service that gives customers the ability to access their account information, new features and tools. Customers who use smartphones and other web-enabled mobile devices can access Remote DVR Manager by simply logging onto http://mdvr.timewarnercable.com.
